Core Technology

Melody Wings equips the Neptune with a bone conduction driver alongside dynamic and balanced armature units, aiming to deliver a warm, full-bodied bass response with a rich sense of atmosphere.

After extensive testing, measurement, and refinement, their acoustic engineers developed the “Le Verrier Breathing Array,” a system that optimizes airflow and internal acoustics. By reshaping the housing’s external vents, adjusting the internal structure, and carefully controlling driver vibration and sound wave reflections, the design enhances overall coherence.

The shell features five precision air vents that balance internal and external air pressure while also acting as angled reflective surfaces, allowing the drivers to integrate more seamlessly for a more natural, realistic, and solid sound.

Tuning Concept

Named after the most extreme planet in our solar system, Neptune draws inspiration from a world of immense power and depth, where supersonic winds rage and immense heat transform matter itself. That same philosophy carries into its tuning: rather than chasing brightness or sheer resolution, the engineers focused on delivering warmth, depth, and a sense of layered immersion. Like its namesake, Neptune balances intensity with control, combining powerful low-end presence with a deep, fluid presentation.

Driver Configuration

Neptune features a 6-driver, 3-way crossover design, combining four balanced armatures, one dynamic driver, and one bone conduction unit for a cohesive and full-range sound.

• Low Frequencies: A 10mm bio-diaphragm dynamic driver works alongside the bone conduction unit to produce bass that is both impactful and layered, with a strong sense of physicality.
   
• Midrange: Composite balanced armature drivers deliver a warm, full-bodied midrange with smooth transitions and rich, expressive vocals.
   
• High Frequencies: Additional balanced armatures handle the treble, offering smooth extension and detailed presentation without harshness.

Thoughtful Design

The Neptune’s front cavity is crafted using HeyGears 3D printing technology, allowing for precise control over the shell structure. It uses an eco-friendly resin that is skin-friendly, durable, and hypoallergenic for comfortable long-term wear.

The faceplate draws inspiration from nature, featuring real birch wood. Each piece is uniquely patterned, with its own grain and direction, making every unit one of a kind. The natural variations highlight the organic beauty of the material, giving each Neptune a distinct, handcrafted character.
